Weekend Ketchup #3 (Or is it #4? I skipped one)
The Ketchups are my newly revived, mostly-weekly ritual, a fret-free way to assure that I post once a week, even if it’s not pure awesome-sauce. If you’d like to play along, just add your ketchup (or a link to it) in the condiment section below.
Whoa. This week? I got stuff DONE! Go me!
We have a new About page! I’m still scared to go and re-read it just yet, but I thought it was pretty rockin’ when I wrote it.
And writing about myself? I hate it so much that I avoided it by logged into LinkedIn and updated my contacts there – something I’d not done in 2 years. And I seriously hate LinkedIn, because it’s so formal and there are so many blanks in my resume and and and…. well. You get the picture. But my About-Page avoidance wasn’t quite severe enough to make me update Facebook.
The bonus good in all of this? I publically whined about anxiety attacks triggered by writing about myself (whether on an about page, a bio, or when filling out profiles) and guess what? Lots of other people feel that way too, and we’re not freaks! (Well, not for THAT reason, anyway!)
Then, I launched a THING!
See that new badge in the sidebar, the one that says “This Way To The Menagerie”? That’s a promo that was supposed to run for two weeks, minimum… but I was overwhelmed by the response and had to close it in about 36 hours. (You all rock, by the way!)
And as with all launches, I learned stuff (which I’m still writing up as a post). Also, the sales page will, I think, become the template for Circus sales pages, because it rocked and I was seriously proud of it.
I’m also just about done with a better display method for the individual totems, and 3 more are almost ready for delivery. So THAT rocks, too.
Next Week? I have Jury duty.
Blech. Authority figures. Rules. Uncomfortable seats. Uncertainty about where I’ll have to go, which means asking Mr. Spouse to hang around until it’s sorted out and I know if I need a ride somewhere. I’ve served on a jury once, so no lectures… I get it. I’ll go. If needed I’ll serve. And I will survive! But I don’t have to like the process!
Stuff You Should Go Check Out:
I have a new have a new bloggy crush, Donna of Unemployed Entrepreneur. This is the post that reeled me in: Views From The Crackhouse. And on those days that we Quirkipreneurs are feeling all ashamed and hopeless? We should go re-read it. It’s not all inspirational – it’s just REAL.
And this video? Makes me smile every time. I’m not a Cosplayer. I’ve never been to DragonCon, or any Con, for that matter (other than some boring retail conventions years ago). But I love this . And I am so tempted to start a CosPlay For Geezers movement.
What interesting stuff have you discovered this week?
Share with the class!
